From Christiana to Stockholm, 1908, pages 54 to 91: ‘Macgregor, the originator of the Rob Roy canoe, had taken his canoe from Christiana to Stockholm in 1866, but of the 470 miles of his journey he had, as a matter of fact, done only about 190 of actual canoeing, the rest was railway and steamer travelling. We decided to see if we could not make a rather better job of it…’

2ft, 10inch beam.. that's a bit narrow for big seas methinks!
And with two blokes and a lot of stores on board. They were braver than I am by quite a distance.
