We’d been to visit the Wilsonian dinghy club on the banks of the Medway, as we’re considering our options following Bewl Valley Sailing Club’s decision to hand itself over to the administrators after years of high rents and withering membership numbers due to the high fees…
The future of sailing at Bewl is none too clear as yet, but the owners of the lease are clear that there will be sailing there in the fugre. As we have been unclear what we members should do with our boats in the meantime, who we should pay our subs to, and what might future membership pricing levels might be, it seemed sensible to look around… So this morning we visited the Wilsonian on the Medway near Upnor, and friendly, helpful folks they turned out to be – if you can actually find their club!
[PS – I have tonight been advised that further information about sailing at Bewl Water will be published on the Bewl Water country Park website very soon, and that the lease owners are developing plans for the future right now.]
