Anderson by sailing canoe from Christiana to Stockholm, pages 54 to 91

From Christiana to Stockholm, 1908, pages 54 to 91: ‘Macgregor, the originator of the Rob Roy canoe, had taken his canoe from Christiana to Stockholm in 1866, but of the 470 miles of his journey he had, as a matter of fact, done only about 190 of actual canoeing, the rest was railway and steamer travelling. We decided to see if we could not make a rather better job of it…’

Underfall Underfall
Kind Win Cnoops of the Underfall Yard and the Slipway Collective has sent us some more shots of the gig Young Bristol being built – which I know will be a treat for many of you who first saw her at the Beale Park Boat Show. (See A pilot gig at the Beale Park Boat Show for earlier photos.)

Anderson Around Lake Wener, page 30-53

Around Lake Wener, 1907, pages 30 to 53: ‘After lunch Bill started out in the Bee to see how she behaved in the heavy sea. I was not going to be beaten, so I followed, though I was horribly frightened. It was only annoyance at the thought that his boat was more seaworthy than mine that drove me to it, and I was quite convinced that I was going to disaster, but as a matter of fact I managed all right.’
