Ben Wales spotted this Uffa Fox-designed Uffa Ace National 18 for sale while on the island of Fano while holidaying in Denmark recently – as he says, it’s amazing what you’ll find when far from home.
I’ve always liked the look of the 18s. I wonder how this one came to be so far from home? Was the National 18 ever a contender for International status?

Intheboatshed.net regular contributor Brian Pearson has got in touch to to bring our attention to this boat for sale that could make a worthy project for someone – a clinker-built 16ft Portland Bill boat used for fishing with pots.
It’s a splendid looking shape and could perhaps be on the water with only a minimum of repair and restoration work – or at least I’d hope so. The buyer had better have a close look…

Now you’d had a good long look… What if I were to say this lovely Knud Reimers-designed Tumlare is for sale for something under £10,000? Or that owner David Lea says she’s a wonderful boat to sail as well as a thoroughly beautiful sailing yacht?
Her hull is of Oregon pine on steamed or laminated oak frames (there are no steel frames!) with oak floors and a ply deck. she’s had an extensive re-fit by a previous owner, and the current owner did the cabin fit-out, scarfed-in some frames and strengthened some floors.
