Here’s a set of photos from Wivenhoe – the sort of selection I call a harbour stroll, although this one includes a few scenes from the town itself, the view over to Rowhedge, the graves of a member of the legendary Sainty family of ship builders and Able Seaman Benjamin Clover Snood, who fought with Nelson at Trafalgar.
I’m intrigued by the small but elegant clinker-built sailing yachts with racing tendencies… Are they Folkboats up to their chins in mud, or something of the same idea fitted with a lifting keel or twin keels?
