Matt Atkin photographs boats on the beaches of the Langkawi archipelago

Here’s another example of how other people do things differently, here’s a wonderful gallery of shots sent by my amateur photographer brother Matt, who lives and works in the Far East. It certainly is an exotic and interesting world out there. And then, in among all the exotic working boats, there’s just one conventional Western style cruising yacht. You wonder who they are, where they are going and whether, in such surroundings, they feel any need to go anywhere else…

Langkawi is made up of 104 islands in the Andaman Sea, some 30 kilometres off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia.
