Some 25 years ago, Howard Rice completed a voyage around Cape Horn in a 15 foot wood and canvas sailing canoe – and now he’s about to do it again – this time in a John  Welsford-designed Scamp – and the aim is to make a film of the adventure.

‘Round Cape Horn in a tiny sailing boat’ has quite a ring to it – for as the saying goes ‘Below 40 degrees South there is no law and below 50 degrees South there is no God.’ I hope he stays safe and the film gets made…
