News Chronicle Audacity Salaam for sale

Audacity Salaam is for sale

Hollowshore Cruising Club commodore David Williams is selling Salaam, his cold-moulded Laurent Giles Audacity small sailing cruiser. See details here.

Originally sponsored as a class by the News Chronicle newspaper, the Audacity is one of the boats for which the famous Sopranino was a prototype.

No-one has mentioned the issue, but from looking at her figures I’m inclined to think she might be a bit of a goer, particularly to windward. Does anyone want to comment? If so please use the comment link below.

  1. Is your vessel still for sale?

Have you had any interest in her?

I am asking as we are Yacht Brokers here in Maldon Essex.

We have been asked to market another Audacity that is down in Plymouth, Devon.

Any feedback would be much appreciated

  2. I've recently purchased Audacity Class Sloop 'Cintra', she was built in 1959 and would like to compile as much inforamtion on her and her like. As im a first time boat owner and live in Spain in proving a little difficult to get what need. Can anyone help with suggestions?

  3. I was scanning for boats out of interest and searched audacity as my dad owned one in the early 1970's. Her number i think was 126 and her name was cintra!! She ws moored at conway north wales and sailed from 71- 75 or so. I learnt to sail on her. She then was in dry dock for a few years until restored by my brother and his friends circa 1980. After that i dont know. If it is the same boat i can ask more about the previous owner as my dad will remember and also what happened to her after 1980.

    hope this helps

  4. I have an audacity currently under rebuild. There is not a lot of info available on them but drawings and specs are still available from Laurent Giles, Plymouth.
