Albert Strange’s Betty, as Tally Ho, won the 1927 Fastnet Race, but today she’s an abandoned motor fishing vessel named Escape, and may be found languishing in the harbour at Brookings, Oregon, according to the swish new Albert Strange Association website.

Take a look at these photos – I can’t imagine how anyone could look at them without feeling inspired. The scenery is the coast of New Zealand, and the boats are a Navigator and a Pathfinder, both large cruising dinghies designed by John Welsford.
