Slick new website for the Wooden Boatbuilders Trade Association

The Wooden Boatbuilders Trade Association has set up a slick new website, http://www.wbta.co.uk , that’s far easier to navigate than the old site, looks a lot better, and includes an easy to use list of members and their websites.

Although it hasn’t got a great deal of content yet, it promises some nice new features, including a quarterly newsletter Soundings. I’ve already signed up for it, and look forward to learning more.

I’ve been looking at the Dixon-Price Publishing catalogue after receiving a nice email from the brains behind the outfit, Kendall Hanson. I think there are two books that probably deserve particular attention – and which I would certainly like to read myself.

The first is A Thousand Miles in the Rob Roy Canoe, the first groundbreaking book by the father of modern kayaking and canoe camping, John MacGregor.

Ben Crawshaw’s Light Trow makes more progress

I have another reason to be delighted today (yesterday’s news was good too), as Ben Crawshaw has reported some great progress on his Light Trow at The Invisible Workshop.
