Local boat owner Alan Thorne took these beautiful photographs of the area of marshland at Hollowshore and Ham Farm threatened by a planning application by Brett Aggregates to extract gravel in the area. Thanks Alan!

The application is opposed by many groups and organisations, including Swale Borough Council, Natural England, Kent Wildlife Trust, Protect Kent, The Faversham Society and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, not to mention local residents. The Environment Agency has also expressed serious concerns.
