It opens with a short but seriously scary aqueduct sequence… You won’t get me up there!
Maritime Burnham offers a ‘sensitive’ alternative to the Maltings sheds development plan
Burnham’s planning row over the Maltimgs sheds continues. The yard owner, Mr Prior, now wishes to keep the boatyard trading, but says it needs significant investment, which could come from the proceeds of the sale of the Maltings sheds.
This looks like very good news. Campaigners Maritime Burnham have made an offer to buy the site, and has plans to stabilise the buildings, offer boat storage for Priors and third parties, and pursue what they say would be a sensitive development within the existing sheds to add leisure uses such as catering and retail. Read all about it here.
Architects have prepared drawings of what the development could look like.
The organisations is asking for folks to write to Maldon Council opposing the application, which is on the council’s website.
