If you’re in Cornwall or Devon and the end of July, don’t forget the Plymouth Classic Boat Rally takes place from the 27th to the 30th.
I’ve had a look at the entrants list, and it’s pretty impressive.
A boat that might catch many people’s interest is Integrity, the Victorian-style gentleman’s cutter built recently by Stirling & Sons of Tavistock.
Among the other craft scheduled to appear are:
- a flotilla of pilot cutters
- Francis Chichester’s Gipsy Moth IV, one of the most famous yachts in the world
- Sir Max Aitken’s impressive 1957-built mahogany-hulled racer Drumbeat
- the 72 ft ketch-rigged Tamar sailing barge Shamrock, which was built at Stonehouse Creek, Plymouth in 1899
