Gavin Atkin's weblog for the sort of people who like looking inside boat sheds. It's about old boats, traditional boats, boat building, restoration, the sea and the North Kent Coast

Beautiful.
Sir,
A question to you, since you seem to have known Mr. John Leather, of Classic Boat Magazine and many other endeavours, quite well.
Would you know the design name of one of his favourite boats — a 16 footer with a standing lug as the main and a small leg-of-mutton mizzen?
It is such a simple and balanced choice of rig and beautiful to look at (from a drawing on CB Magazine) which entices me to have said boat built — especially since it had the seal of approval of said knowledgeable gentleman.
Sincerely,
Nando Fernandes
