What a day that was, like old times when the people of Faversham celebrated a launching into the creek, The lovely mayor jumped into the beautiful skiff Avocet and had to be reminded by her sergeant at arms that he had not brought his wet suit so would have difficulty recovering the gold mayoral chain around her person if she fell in and it dropped the the bottom of the creek…. what about me she cried if I fell in, I am sorry to remind you, he replied, that I am only here to guard your gold chain, even if you fall in; I have to rescue it first…. unphased, the gallant lady mayor jumped in and rowed up an down the creek, clearly enjoying the idea of a mayoral barge…. and everyone cheered when finally she came ashore… what a day that was…
It certainly was!!! Alan was surely delighted, as the Creek Trust folks must have been. Let’s have more!
