Wonderful, mention of St Brendan evokes Tim Severin’s ‘The Brendan Voyage’. My favourite bit of that book is the lively session in the pub during a break from the hard work of building her which ended with the PR man from the sponsors Guiness offering to fight any man in the pub who said the voyage wouldn’t succeed.
