I particularly like the bit at the end where the cameraman takes us along waterways into the town. My thanks to Hans-Christian Rieck for passing this one along!
Gavin Atkin's weblog for the sort of people who like looking inside boat sheds. It's about old boats, traditional boats, boat building, restoration, the sea and the North Kent Coast

This reminds me that when the Dutch invaded what is now Indonesia in the 17th c. they built a town along the lines of Amsterdam – Batavia now part of Jakarta. – complete with canals and tall thin houses – anything to feel at home in a foreign country I guess. Unfortunately the static canals proved to be an ideal breeding ground for malaria carrying mosquitoes. Now with global-warming it is a moot point as to whether the canals of Amsterdam might also suffer the same fate.
