Untitled watercolour by Rowland Hilder

As someone who lives in the Low Weald of Kent, I think of Rowland Hilder as a painter of landscapes that look as if they portray the fields around our house. But I’ve recently come to realise that Hilder was also an accomplished marine artist. Click on this link to Baron Fine Art Gallery to see some more examples.

  2. Hi Nancy, your print sounds very much like the painting of Aylesford Bridge on the R. Medway in Kent. A very good Biography was published in 1978 by the Antique Collectors Club, I have the second edition published in 1987. It was by John Lewis and the ref is ISBN 1 85149 050 7 – heavily illustrated I recommend it for more background if you can find a copy.

    Regards

    Chris
