Uffa Fox’s airborne lifeboat at the Classic Boat Museum, Newport

I’ve posted about the airborne lifeboat before – see Uffa Fox’s airborne lifeboat at the Museum of the Broads and Uffa Fox’s great and lasting memorial – the Airborne Lifeboat – but I’m delighted that Julie’s photo of the example at the Classic Boat Museum at Newport on the Isle of Wight is the best I’ve seen.

Thanks again Julie!

  1. Any one out there have information or photos of a Uffa Fox life boat 4 Hp engine, these were used in WW11. Also used in army SBS canoes so I am informed. Many Thanks

    1. Hello Gavin this is a message to Brian North regarding information on the 4hp engines used in MK1 & MK1a Airborne lifeboats & Mk8 canoes. If he’s been unable to find any pictures he may like to contact me as I own two Britannia Middy engines.
