Dick Wynne of the Albert Strange Association has emailed to say that the ASA has a new website.

This is a busy, active society and the site has lots of content to read and many photos of boats well worth our admiration. A few members own Albert Strange boats or works of art, but I gather the key requirement for membership is an admiration for his ‘quiet accomplishment across a wide range of activity concerning boats and the sea’.

The Society has published two books on Strange and his works, and has assisted practically and financially with the cataloguing and conservation of his surviving original design drawings, which are held at Mystic Seaport Museum in the United States.

Looking for a boat, or do you just like playing? If so, try our new Google search engine focusing on some of the best places to find ads for traditional boats and classic wooden craft in the UK - including owners’ associations, yards, brokers and the advertising sites. But perhaps the best thing about this search is that there’s so little junk!
